The local residents in the region said unidentified fighter jets bombed an area near Basra village, a key Al Shabaab stronghold.
There were no immediate reports of the casualties on the militants stationed there.
It’s not yet clear which country belongs to the warplanes carried out the airstrike targeting Al Shabaab in Somalia, but, it comes hours after US military killed 9 militants in an air raid near Kismayo on October 1.
