Senate’s standing committee holds meeting in Mogadishu

The standing committee of Somalia’s Upper House chamber of Federal Parliament held Tuesday in Mogadishu.

During the sitting, the Senate’s chairman, Abdi Hashi Abdullahi has briefed the senators about his recent working visit to Kismayo city, the interim capital of Jubbaland state.

The speaker paid a trip to Jubbaland and held talks with state president, Ahmed Madobe over the current political rift between the central government and regional administrations.

The Senate is working around the clock to solve the deadlock and restore the cooperation between the two sides as the country on the path for recovery after decades of conflict.
