Somaliland President urged to resign on treason charges

The leader of Somaliland’s opposition party Abdirahman Irro has called on the state’s President Muse Bihi to immediately step down on treason charges.

Speaking at a press conference in Hargeisa on Thursday, Irro has accused the serving President of hiding the truth of the UAE deals over Berbera port from the public.

Irro who leads the opposition Waddani party has run for the presidency last year and lost to Muse Bihi Abdi from the ruling Kulmiye party.

The breakaway Somaliland inked multi-million agreements with the United Arab Arab Emirates [UAE] during the last government under former president Ahmed Mohamed Siilaanyo.
